This job is a member of the Procurement team within our Finance division.
Responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategic programs which meet the needs of the internal stakeholders while addressing pricing, acquisition, total cost, lead-time and supply, as well as managing contracts and suppliers.
What you'll do
Drive results through action-oriented initiatives and strong relationship-building skills
Innovate and creatively solve problems, taking full ownership of your projects
Represent American Airlines in negotiations and business dealings, both internally and externally
Develop and implement category strategies as a strategic thinker within Tech Ops
Types of initiatives that you will be responsible for supporting may include, but not be limited to: aircraft parts (purchase and aftermarket repair & overhaul (R&O) services), aircraft retrofits, ground service equipment (GSE), contract line maintenance, consulting, NDAs, and transportation
Manage RFP processes and contract negotiations with expertise
Develop and draft critical service level performance guidelines that support the operation, limit/reduce financial exposure, improve effectiveness, and ensure supplier accountability
Work closely with legal counsel to ensure the best terms and conditions for the company are achieved
Enhance company value while fostering positive supplier relationships
Collaborate with internal teams to understand their needs and integrate them into procurement processes
Communicate effectively, demonstrating emotional intelligence in all interactions
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
At least three years of related professional experience in Procurement and Strategic Sourcing
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Advanced degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field
Proficiency in Source to Pay systems
Strong project management capabilities
Skills in process mapping and supplier risk analysis
Experience in vendor relationship management
Previous aerospace and/or airline experience
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Proven procurement experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Leadership potential with excellent communication skills
Solid understanding of supply chain management principles
Effective negotiation and influencing abilities
Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple tasks with a high degree of initiative
Strong business acumen, particularly in project management and financial analysis
Technical proficiency in analytical tools for problem-solving and quality improvement
Ethical integrity in all business dealings
