Job Description:
This position serves as the project manager for the annual Academic-related ceremonies, including Convocation, School Commencement Ceremonies and Faculty Investiture. This position provides event support for all University Events and other presidential and development events as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field and three plus years relevant professional experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of four years of experience in event planning and coordination
Experience in a university, education, or non-profit environment preferred
Experience planning academic ceremonies preferred
Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures of event planning
Excellent interpersonal skills as a team player; an active listener; at ease with a wide range of donors, University constituents, and backgrounds.Desire to work in a service-oriented environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Flexible to work evenings and weekends, as needed, in support of events
Proven abilities to handle discreet and confidential information
Proven abilities in organizational, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills; strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills essential
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to work both independently and as a team player
