Robert Half has an open position for an ambitious Assistant Controller to join a prestigious company in the Construction/Contractor industry. The Assistant Controller will supervise the accounting staff while reporting to the Controller. Responsibilities

• Consider and form Ad Hoc financial reports

• Discern and establish process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency

• Encourage to ensure a competent, trained staff through goal setting, regular assessment, and development

• Put together diversified policies, procedures, and technical accounting analyses

• Backfill for Controller as required

• Stimulate accountability and the meeting of deliverables

• Guarantee regular account reconciliation to completion

• Contribute to the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting

• Support the accounting team during the closing process to confirm deadlines are met

• Design relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like key financial metrics, actual spend against budgets/outlook, and the monthly flash report

• Perform other duties when necessary

• Maintain implementation and insure adherence to accounting policies and procedures

• Advanced preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits

  Requirements - Accurate knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

• Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Solid understanding of construction

• Journal entries experience highly desired

• Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Month end closings experience preferred

• Project accounting experience

• Construction Accounting experience

• CPA a plus

  • Remarkable accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

• Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

• 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience

• Ability to multitask, collaborate and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds in a fast-paced environment

• Deep technical background in public accounting (GAAP)
