Job Description:
UES is seeking an experienced Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACM) Project Manager to oversee asbestos-related projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and client requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental consulting, project management, and hazardous materials assessment, with expertise in asbestos regulations and remediation strategies. In addition, experience with assessments for indoor air quality, mold, radon, and lead.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee asbestos inspection, testing, and abatement projects from initiation to completion.
Conduct site assessments, surveys, and sampling to determine the presence of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs).
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local asbestos regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and NESHAP guidelines.
Develop and implement project plans, including scopes of work, timelines, and budgets.
Prepare technical reports, remediation plans, and regulatory documentation.
Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project success.
Provide training and guidance on asbestos safety, regulations, and best practices.
Perform quality control reviews and risk assessments to ensure adherence to safety and environmental protocols.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in asbestos assessment, project management, or environmental consulting.
Licensed Asbestos Management Planner or Asbestos Consultant (strongly preferred), as required by state regulations or combination of Asbestos Licenses (Building Inspector, Air-Monitoring Technician with NIOSH 582 Equivalency License, Management Planner, and/or Project Designer).
In-depth knowledge of asbestos regulations (EPA, OSHA, NESHAP, AHERA, and state-specific laws) .
Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in various field conditions and travel as needed for project sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
Mold Assessment Technician or Consultant License (preferred).
Lead-Based Paint Inspector Certification (preferred).
NRPP Radon Measurement Professional Certification (preferred).
40-hour HAZWOPER certification (or willingness to obtain).
