JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Wilkes-Barre invites applications for an Assistant (Tenure-Track, 36 weeks) or Associate (Tenure-eligible, 36 weeks) Professor of Surveying Engineering to begin January 2024.

Responsibilities: Teach an average of three (3) courses and associated labs each semester in Surveying and related disciplines; courses will include Surveying Measurements Analysis, Geodesy, GIS, and Photogrammetry. The successful candidate will be committed to active and collaborative learning and the instruc tional use of technology in a student-centered environment. Must publish in high-quality, refereed journals in the field. Participate in professional organizations and in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students and provide career guidance . Participate in activities related to the Surveying Program, such as Program coordination, ABET data organization, and recruiting. Involve students in undergraduate research and professional activities. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities.

Qualifications: PhD. in Surveying , Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related area at the time of appointment. ABD will be considered if Ph.D. will be in hand by December 2024. Academic specialization in one of the following: Construction Surveying, Land Tenure and Land Administration and Information Systems, Photogrammetry , Geodesy, and Terrestrial Laser Scanning. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important. A professional license in Surveying in Pennsylvania or a commitment to be licensed within three years is preferred.
