Compensation Range
Annual Salary: $125,625.00 - $196,250.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)
About This Job
The main purpose of this job is to develop, manage, retain and expand client relationships within the affluent market segment with responsibility for loan and deposit growth, revenue generation, and revenue growth. This will be achieved by being the single point of contact for Private Banking clients; providing concierge level personal service and collaborating with the client service team to provide a full range of customized financial management services to clients.
Essential Functions
Create and execute a written marketing plan with the aim of developing/expanding a portfolio of qualified client relationships through an active calling effort targeting individuals whose financial status falls within the parameters defined as the private banking target market
Identify opportunities for the sale of investment management products and trust services
Prepare and deliver client presentations
Manage a portfolio of more than $30,000,000 and up to 350 relationships
Make decisions within assigned lending authority or make and defend recommendations for the extension of credit that exceeds authority
Manage banking component of client relationships in order to avoid principal loss
Participate in the activities of internal client service teams within the Wealth Management practice
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Strong knowledge of the banking industry
Ability to identify, solicit and close new business opportunities to meet specific sales and marketing goals
Ability to collaborate with other lines of business, i.e. commercial bankers for referrals
Ability to network in social and business settings to identify both centers of influence and potential new high net worth clients. Preferably candidate will have an established network through (i) professional relationships with Centers of Influence, (ii) membership, preferably Board service, in professional and civic organizations.
Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and meet Commerce Bank’s driving record criteria; ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirements
Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. MBA, other graduate degree or certification preferred.
6+ years financial services industry, Private Banking or Commercial Lending experience required

This compensation range is for the Private Banking Relationship Manager III & Senior job and contemplates a wide range of factors that are considered in determining most appropriate job level and making compensation decisions, including but not limited to location, skill sets, education, relevant experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. At Commerce, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $125,625 to $196,250 annually. This position will be eligible for additional compensation through performance-based incentive plan(s) that will correspond to meeting performance goals.
