Apple Cloud Service (ACS) 's Efficiency Team brings clarity and drives performance & architectural optimizations. In partnership with key collaborators, engineering and SRE, our teams build trust and confidence in ACS efficiency and health metrics. We are looking for a creative and motivated Software Engineer with excellent problem solving and communication skills. This position requires strong technical ownership and attention to detail. Our teams are in involved in designing, planning, scaling and operating hardware, system, network and datacenter layers. Working on Apple’s infrastructure is an opportunity to learn high-level capacity planning, performance management, tooling and automation at substantial scale and are ambitious in our undertakings.
Key Qualifications
- We are looking for dedicated developers who:
Have at least 10 years of developing software
Experience with running services at scale
Are proficient with at least two languages of different paradigm
Feel responsible for the successes and failures of their whole team
Communication skills in English
Strong teamwork ability
Strong leadership skills
Automation champion
Assisting with projection analysis
Streamlining data flows
Data visualization
Description
This position includes developing services and drive informed infrastructure strategic direction with our key stakeholders. In this role, you will provide guidance on infrastructure and architecture that helps improve engineering productivity by automating sophisticated processes. You should have a strong interest in learning new technologies and the ability to tackle problems at scale. Some of your day to day responsibilities will include: * Provide customers and service owners the tools and automation to make informed decisions. * Build trust that every dollar invested is well spent * Work cross-functionally with numerous teams from a variety of disciples across Apple
Education & Experience
Master/PHD 's degree in an engineering related field, or equivalent experience.

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $179,000 and $278,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
