Description

We are looking for someone who is passionate about leading teams and bringing Apple’s cloud infrastructure to the next level. You are skilled at driving software product development across a globally distributed organization and delivering new products and features that meaningfully surprise and delight our internal customers. Cloud Infrastructure team, as part of the Apple Services Engineering team, is seeking an extraordinary engineering program manager (EPM) that can help our compute team deliver innovative product solutions that will craft the future of large scale infrastructure at Apple. We are building and supporting critical infrastructural systems and frameworks which provide and support services like Elastic compute, Container solutions like Kubernetes for Apple Cloud Infrastructure, which is the platform upon which many iCloud applications and other backend systems at Apple are built; they have huge scale. You'll partner with a diverse set of teams across Apple to provide them with groundbreaking infrastructure for Storage that operate at significant scale and use open source technologies along with proprietary systems. We're a fast paced organization with ambitious goals, a large user base, and the autonomy to build the future of Compute and Storage infrastructure for all of Apple. Teams across Apple rely on us for Compute and Storage infrastructure that help them build services that scale globally, are highly available, and "just work". We listen to different perspectives, help surface innovative ideas, and drive decisions that move us forward. You'll need a strong background in program and project management complemented by your technical abilities. Occasional travel required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Exceptional interpersonal, project management, and technical skill

  • 5+ years experience in software development project management in Infrastructure domains, preferably compute

  • Prior Engineering, Infrastructure experience a plus

  • Experience running Cloud and Infrastructure projects. Past experience with deployments to AWS / Kubernetes

  • platforms would be a plus

  • ECS, Virtual machines strongly preferred.

  • Experience running Cloud and Infrastructure projects. Past experience with containers/storage would be a plus

  • Agile project experience with evidence and able to demonstrate knowledge

  • SCRUM background and/or played the role of a Scrum Master is plus

  • Experience with prioritizing features and technical road maps

  • Proficiency and experience in delivering large scale infrastructure projects

  • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to represent at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to handle multiple simultaneous end to end infrastructure, technical projects and stakeholder community

  • comprising of various engineering teams and their partners

  • Experience at end to end project delivery; building roadmaps through to operational sustainability

  • Strong facilitation skills (requirements sessions, design meetings, progress and status meetings)
