Be at the center of the action on new silicon product development for Apple's groundbreaking SoC's! Apple’s Silicon Engineering Group is looking for a high-energy, highly motivated technical writer/Engineering Program Manager to support a variety of key internal projects. The Hardware Technology environment is complex and ever-changing; flexibility is a requirement. Being able to prioritize and react quickly is needed. Responsibilities include working with engineers to standardize and generate documentation that enable precise execution of our silicon delivery utilized in Apple's state of the art products.

Key Qualifications

  • Computer hardware-related technical writing experience, including data sheets or hardware specifications.

  • Engineering/technical background and knowledge is a must; ability to grasp and detail highly technical concepts, theories and ideas.

  • Proficient with programming languages such as Python or JavaScript.

  • Experience with JIRA and Splunk or Grafana.

  • Experience with version control systems like Perforce and Git.

  • Familiar with XML tools and technologies (DocBook/DITA, Oxygen, XSLT, XPath).

  • Familiar with content management approaches and concepts.

  • Attention to detail, with strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to drive both technical and functional requirements based on user feedback captured from various multi-functional teams.

Description

  • Partner closely with engineers crafting chips at the core of future Apple products, producing and publishing the technical specifications used by internal hardware and software teams. - The job involves providing tool and content creation support to engineers: training users, converting documents, building, debugging, and publishing specifications. - Work with the documentation team to define and automate workflows, promote standard processes, advise on content-reuse strategies, and document specification guidelines. - You will be encouraged to bring experience and good judgment to continuously drive documentation and process improvement across multiple, simultaneous projects and systems.

Education & Experience

BS and 3+ years relevant industry experience

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300.00 and $241,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
