Apple's Real Estate, Design & Merchandising (RDM) teams create and care for Apple Stores that look, feel, and function as beautifully as our products. We do this by obsessing over the employee and customer experience, and driving a strategy that sets the bar. RDM's Product Merchandising team partners across Apple to develop a compelling range of third party accessory products. These products enhance customers’ experience of Apple products and services in Apple Stores and Apple Online Stores around the world. We are looking for an experienced manager to lead a team of highly skilled merchants, balance multiple priorities, build leadership relationships across broad, diverse teams and represent Apple in conversations with third party vendors. Description

The successful candidate will find opportunities to drive the accessories business, set clear objectives for their team and build effective relationships across Apple. In this position you will: *Lead a team of Product Merchants defining the assortment of multiple third party accessories categories for the Apple Store and Apple Online Store worldwide. *Take personal ownership of select third party product categories, along with management responsibility for wider Product Merchandising team. *Partner with vendors to develop products optimized for the Apple ecosystem, meeting the same exacting standards Apple holds its own products to. *Partner with ID, Product Marketing and Field teams to identify emerging trends and product categories which could drive growth incremental to Apple’s own assortment. *Partner with Accessories Campaigns and Strategy team, developing special edition, exclusive products for global and local campaigns. *Partner with technical teams (Engineering, Developer Relations, MFI) to ensure third party products effectively elevate the experience of key Apple technologies and services. *Drive the commercial performance of the assortment, using detailed analytics and qualitative research. *Own product lifecycle management from initial forecasting to end of life. *Understand and share insights which can drive the performance of Apple’s own accessory products and effectively communicate opportunity to internal partners. *Develop and grow productive internal and external relationships with key business partners including Developer Relations, Product Marketing, Industrial Design, Marcom, Engineering and Operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7-10 Years experience in buying, merchandising or product development functions.

  • Experience managing high performing teams in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally required.

  • Proven ability to manage and lead at the highest levels in an internationally recognized organization.

  • Outstanding decision making skills, with an ability to make informed decisions in highly ambiguous environments.

  • Ability to direct work and prioritize effectively in dynamic and resource-constrained environment.

  • Experience developing and leading senior level relationships with external vendors and internal partners.

  • Experience presenting complex topics to senior leadership internally and with 3rd party partners.

  • Excellent collaboration skills, ability to partner with diverse technical and creative teams across the world.

  • Strong familiarity with Apple Ecosystems and the iOS App Store.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Strong data analysis skills with Excel/Numbers proficiency.

  • Experience delivering against targets and managing a P&L.

  • Experience managing businesses across multiple complex regions a plus.

  • Project management and process improvement experience a plus.

  • Prior purchasing/merchandising experience a plus.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $146,800 and $269,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
