Highly skilled engineering professional with an innate curiosity in debugging failures
3-8 years minimum technical experience
Good understanding of electronic assembly process and electro-mechanical interaction
Hands on experience in fault isolation, functional verification of modular components (LCD, camera, speaker, printed circuits, battery, buttons, vibrator) and root cause failure analysis
Working knowledge of statistics and production control processes; ability to analyze and interpret large volume data sets
Superior communication and presentation skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to travel internationally about 15%
Apple seeks an individual with the skills to failure analyze and drive corrective actions for the top issues affecting the iPhone product family. In this position, you will have the responsibility to drive hands on fault isolation, electrical and physical failure analysis, determine failure mechanism and identify root cause analysis on current and new products. This position partners with engineering, product development, operations, AppleCare, and the iPhone component manufacturers. This is a key role to support ongoing quality improvement for the iPhone. • Conduct detailed system failure analysis on iPhones, identify failure mechanism and partner with Apple Manufacturing and Engineering teams to implement corrective actions • Work with commodity managers and supplier quality engineers to ensure best in class component quality & reliability by making recommendations to improve design/test/process • Summarize FA findings and succinctly communicate updates to the executive team on a weekly basis • Implement best practices and learnings across manufacturing sites to improve Failure Analsis quality and efficiency • Strategic identification and prioritization of issues and corrective actions
Education & Experience
