The Core OS Power team is looking for a dedicated and experienced technical engineering manager to lead the cellular system power team for Apple’s iOS, watchOS, and products. You will manage a team of hard-working engineers to measure, analyze, and validate power and drive cross-functional collaboration to optimize power. You will have the opportunity to work with experts across Apple to influence cellular power efficiency of new products and have a major impact on customer-facing battery life targets!

Description

Lead a team of experienced engineers to optimize cellular power for future products. Act as a technical leader when design directions are unclear. Network with peer managers in stakeholder teams to drive effective collaboration. Strengthen the team by hiring and mentoring top engineering talents. Manage several projects and conflicting priorities. Communicate status and progress clearly with stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of cellular system and protocols (GSM, WCDMA, CDMA, LTE, 5G etc.)

  • 10+ years experience optimizing cellular system power for end to end use cases.

  • Experience managing team teams preferably with focus on cellular system power.

  • Excellent debugging skills in software and hardware to solve challenging problems

Key Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good coding skills, preferably in C/C++/Objective C (or similar languages)

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $190,700 and $329,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
