We are looking for a Senior Strategy Manager to identify, develop, program manage, and track business strategies for Prime Video (PV) US. As part of the PV US Hub Strategy team, you will work cross-functionally with various PV and Amazon stakeholders in devising business strategies and plans that optimize the PV US P&L performance. The strategies you own will balance the sometimes aligned, sometimes conflicting priorities across our Originals and licensed content, Channels monthly subscription, Rent/Buy, and 24/7 Free Ad-supported Streaming TV businesses. You will build consensus on the strategies you develop, bring those strategies to Prime Video and Studios leadership, as applicable, and then be responsible for implementation and tracking the effectiveness of those strategies.

The PV US Hub Strategy team is looking for a passionate, big thinker that takes customer value and marries it with data to deliver thoughtful, long-term business strategies that position Prime Video to be our customers’ first destination for video entertainment. In this role, you will be responsible for, among other tasks, working with business, marketing, finance, programming, research, product, studios, and cross-Amazon stakeholders in creating and delivering high-impact business strategies that bring the total value of PV to our customers.

This person will have a passion for digital video and they are not afraid to roll up their sleeves to simply get the job done. They have a strong attention to detail and polished written and verbal communication skills, and ideally have a strategy, business/P&L ownership, finance, or business development background.

Key job responsibilities

  • Demonstrate success in building and leading complex - often ambiguous - business strategies and prove performance against business metrics.

  • Be comfortable identifying and/or taking opportunities to grow the business and translating those into actionable strategies and tracking performance thereto.

  • Have the ability to evaluate the opportunity size of a strategic investment, as well as an entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to build trust with and influence others.

  • Balance operational and strategy work, using documentation to bring clarity and alignment across teams and stakeholders, balancing deep thinking with quick action, and using mechanisms to organize and drive forward strategy investments.

A day in the life

This role engages regularly with Finance, Marketing, Business, Product, and cross-Amazon stakeholder teams to identify, outline, and implement business strategies. They are often consulted by others as the strategy expert for PV US, providing sound and thoughtful direction. They obsess regularly over business performance, constantly finding ways to improve overall performance or better yet, driving step-change improvements.

About the team

This team sits at the heart of Prime Video US' business, with ownership of PV US' biggest and most important business strategies. This team's remit crosses all parts of Prime Video, as well as requires key relationships with other Amazon teams. You will be joining a team with high visibility to Prime Video leadership and with high impact to the business.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in management consulting, strategy/business development, business management at a major media or technology company, or related field

  • 5+ years of related non-internship work experience

  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders, managing conflicting priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent analytical capabilities

  • Comfort working with complex business models

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively with a high degree of autonomy

  • Knowledge of and passion for the entertainment industry

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $93,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $199,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
