ALTIVIA Project Manager in Crosby, Texas
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing significant high value capital projects at ALTIVIA Oxide Chemicals. With an expected project portfolio of over $10MM. This includes cost control, engineering, quality, execution, schedule, planning, communications, and documentation. While this position does not have any direct reports, the Project Manager will be responsible for managing multiple outside contractors (EPC) and getting support and buy in from a vast array of internal stakeholders across manufacturing, R&D, HSE, and supply Chain requiring an effective leader with strong cultural thinking skills.
Responsible for overall management of the individual projects assigned including cost control, engineering, quality, execution, schedule, planning, communications, documentation, technical specifications and requirements.
Review and understand client (Operations, Business Unit) specifications to fully identify and understand project obligations and scope.
Ability to shepherd projects from initiation and justification (Business Case Development) through hand over to operations.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to produce the best scope to solve the issue, vet the scope internally and externally to produce an optimum solution, and then partnering with our manufacturing plants to execute the construction phase.
Manage craftsman (both internal and contractor) during the implementation phase of projects to assure safety, quality of work, adherence to scope, project timeline, and budget.
Execute the projects within ALTIVIA Oxide Chemicals’ Capital Project Stage Gate Process guidelines.
Participate/lead the completion of PHA’s, operating procedures, process safety information/documentation, P&ID’s, RMP analysis, facility siting, etc.
Experience & Qualifications (special skills, knowledge, ability, education, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or technical or science related field such as chemical engineering or chemistry.
Professional Engineering Registration (PE) or Project Management Registration (PMP) is preferred.
Leadership experience in areas of project development and execution within a chemical manufacturing environment and particularly in batch processing.
At least 5 years of experience in project engineering of projects of >$5MM in total installed cost (TIC)
Mastery of the concepts of a stage gated work process and Experience Managing EPC contractors.
Possesses a high level of initiative and ability to manage multiple projects with minimal direction/supervision.
Experience with Process Safety Management and Process Hazard Analysis.
Maintains a sense of urgency, individual responsibility, and possesses the ability to effectively work under pressure and with changing priorities.
A demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with contractors, plant, and customer site personnel.
Ability to travel up to 10% as necessary to achieve the established goals.
