Manager, Category Management Mass, Club & Amazon

CT (Hybrid, 2 days In office)

The Manager, Category Management will act as day to day support on key accounts to help sales lead implement optimal 4P strategies. They will interface with the Customer Strategy wing of the Customer Marketing team/sales and cross functional leads to facilitate seamless and timely execution of those strategies. They will also interact with operations ensuring excellent execution of all programs/new product launches at the account level. In addition, they will interface with Account Teams in ensuring that the brand and marketing objectives are easily translated into channel and customer imperatives. This will include helping drive development of line review and Innovation Road Show content to realize distribution gains on our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Customer Business Planning Process on an annual & multi-year basis by working cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Finance and Operations.

  • Assist in the implementation of optimal 4P strategies in collaboration with Customer Strategy Development and Regional Marketing.

  • Co-develop optimal pricing, promotion, placement and product specific to the accounts that they work on

  • Serve as a credible and strategic point of contact with Marketing with clear understanding of both the issues and opportunities across their accounts and channels

  • Serve as an internal advocate for the needs of account teams.

  • Drive content needed for Line Review and Innovation Road Show Meetings for each of their accounts with Support from the Senior Manager.

  • Support the delivery of profitable sales volume for assigned geography and customers across multiple segment and product categories.

  • Manage A&S/data budgets and develop shopper and in-store programs for Field Sales utilization with key customers, channel and company initiatives.

  • Work with Assoc. Mgr. of Category Strategy Implementation processes to deliver specifications and content for e-commerce and brick and mortar customers.

    You Bring:

  • BS/BA required.

  • 5+ years relevant category management experience.

  • Knowledge of Customers and Channels in which company operates. Working knowledge of various promotional/shopper marketing vehicles and experience in retail execution.

  • Advanced computer skills; PowerPoint, Word, Excel. Nielsen, IRI and HH panel data, Syndigo, Salsify knowledge a plus.

  • Sound understanding of various functions (Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance) to support execution of 4P sales strategies, monitor on-going expenditures, and recommend changes to future strategy

  • Individual must understand company products, brand positioning, customers, and competitive marketplace to work with the sales lead to effectively develop annual Trade Marketing, Spending and Promotional plans.

  • Apply knowledge creatively to recognize new sales opportunities and needed strategy changes to help grow sales.

  • Individual must be able to create and maintain strong relationships across functions acting as internal advocate for the Account Sales leads.

  • Understanding of both e-commerce and brick & mortar businesses

  • Travel (15%) is required for Account calls, Trade Shows and Sales meetings.
