Network Security Engineer Team Lead

Position Summary:

Sirius Federal, LLC, a subsidiary of Sirius Computer Solutions, Inc., is looking for a Network Security Engineer Team Lead, with a current Top Secret security clearance, to work at Crofton, MD (remote during Covid-19).

This individual will be focused to deliver new and advanced security technologies that enhance the way our customers conduct business in the Federal, Civilian, and commercial markets. As a premier security specialization provider, the Security Team consists of CCIE and CCNP professionals with deep consulting experience.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide lead engineering design, analysis, and integration services to various Federal and Civilian customers

  • Work hand in hand with Project Management team to fully understand project scope, build project schedules, implementations plans, peer review project documentation, and drive overall success with our growing customer base

  • Develop and document standards, procedures and best practices by determining requirements for implementation, establishing acceptable baseline thresholds, and communicating processes to implementation teams

  • Work closely with pre-sales in the development and review of statements of work, proposals, and level of efforts

  • Working closely with Project Management to ensure projects are delivered withing scope and provide early recognition of scope creep

  • Be a true trusted advisor with the ability to research and recommend new/advanced security technologies and solutions

  • Perform both Security Assessment services and architect/design product configurations based on the customer requirements

  • Provide leadership and mentoring to a team of skilled security engineers

  • Participate in creation of annual team goals and development plans

  • Participating in the interviewing and hiring process of new engineers

    Basic Qualifications:

  • A current Top Secret security clearance is required

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

  • At least 10 years’ experience in Consulting

  • Prior engineering leadership experience is a must

  • Ability to effectively perform both independently and collaboratively as a strong team lead and lead engineer

  • Strong knowledge of overall security industry trends and customer security compliance requirements

Other Position Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of overall security industry trends and customer security compliance requirements

  • Cisco CCNP Security/CCNP with Security Specialization/CCIE

  • Architect experience focused on Cisco ISE deployments

  • Preferred progressive experience in one or more of the following security solutions such as (multiple is preferred):

  • Next-generation firewall (Cisco Firepower and/or Palo Alto) is a plus

  • Web & Email Security (ESA/WSA) is a plus

  • Experience with StealthWatch by Lancope is a plus

  • Fundamental or conceptual understanding of Cisco datacenter and wireless technologies, VMware virtualization is a plus

  • Experience with Tenable is a plus

  • Experience with F5 is a plus

  • Travel up to 40%

  • Work location is based out of Crofton, MD office with office travel for business reasons such as relationship building, management meetings, team events, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Confident, articulate, and professional speaking abilities

  • Solid documentation skills with Microsoft Visio, Word, and Excel

  • Strong background in Cisco route/switch (Catalyst and Nexus) design and implementation

  • Ability to become a customer champion at all levels

  • Post-sales engineering experience in the Federal government sector is highly desired

Essential FunctionsThe position exists to provide technical consulting solutions to customers and as such requires the ability to travel to and from customer sites and interact with customers on an ongoing and regular basis.
