TEXAS DISPOSAL SYSTEMS INC INDUSTRIAL FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECH III - AUSTIN in Creedmoor, Texas
JOB SUMMARY
The Facility Technician III is a senior level position that performs general, advanced and professional-grade maintenance in the areas of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance on the industrial sites. This position will coordinate repairs with other Facility Technicians and vendors and assist with training new technicians.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to include High Visibility clothing.
- Troubleshoot, install and repair motors and controls such as vfds, push buttons, starters and relays, electrical control components such as directional valves, limit, proximity and pressure switches.
- Troubleshoot, install and repair mechanical systems such as head and tail pulleys, pillow block bearings, conveyor belts and gear boxes.
- Operate various maintenance equipment, including but not limited to: hand, electrical or air tools and pressure washers.
- Immediately report safety violations and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
- Comply with company safety policies and procedures, including using the lock-out/tag-out system before performing maintenance work.
- Diagnose problems and implement solutions.
- Direct the work of other Facility Technicians as assigned by manager or supervisor.
- Assist with stocking, unloading and delivering supplies.
- Document repair operations and time-tracking in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain equipment and tools essential to accomplishing daily tasks.
- Perform general housekeeping and engineering-related duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Three years electrical or mechanical maintenance experience in industrial maintenance.
- Ability to identify problems and implement solutions
- With one of the following, the demonstrated familiarity with or ability to:
- The operational characteristics, repair and troubleshooting of electrical systems
- The operational characteristics of mechanical equipment and replacement and repair
- Ability to operate a lift and forklift
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
PREFERRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
- Four years hands on and/or two years of trades training or more.
- Ability to demonstrate proper repair techniques in electrical controls
- Ability to demonstrate mechanical maintenance and in depth knowledge of component identification.
REQUIRED LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS
- Valid Class C drivers license
- Safe driving for the last three years
