Union County College Senior Payroll and Benefits Analyst in Cranford, New Jersey

Union County College is a public comprehensive community college providing quality, affordable, accessible educational programs that serve the greater Union County region. It is the oldest of New Jerseys 19 Associate Degree Colleges, serving both career-minded and transfer-oriented students since 1933. The College enrolls almost 30,000 credit, non-credit and continuing education students and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Many programs lead to the Associate in Arts, Science and Applied Science degrees.

General Description:

Oversee the submission of semi-monthly payrolls. Prepare compensation calculations

in accordance with union contracts and college guidelines. Oversee Time Clock Plus

time and attendance system. Calculate benefit deductions and oversee payroll and benefit

remittances.

Characteristics, Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collects, audits and inputs payroll and benefit data to ADP .

• Maintains ADP with employee demographics, pay rates and employee deductions.

• Reconciles and submits semi-monthly payroll.

• Calculation of adjunct payments as well as calculation of faculty overload and overage payments.

• Prepares payroll remittance calculations and maintains records. Prepares E-Vouchers or wires for remittances.

• Reconcile benefit deductions to billing source.

• Prepares ad hoc reports from ADP as requested.

• Answers questions concerning payroll and benefit deductions accurately and with professionalism.

• Monthly review and audit of Time Clock Plus system ensuring time and accruals are reported accurately. Timely engagement with managers to resolve discrepancies.

• Continuous review of payroll, ADP and Time Clock Plus pursuing process improvements and enhancements.

• Reconciles the FSA account on a monthly basis.

• Prepares monthly and year end payroll accruals.

• Works closely with the Human Resources department on payroll and benefit related issues.

• Performs related duties as assigned by manager or his/her designee.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Experience:

• Minimum five (5) years ADP Workforce Now experience including report writing, data import and export preferred.

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• This position’s duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.

• Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.

• Some travel required.
