Your Day-to-Day:
Support the AP1000 Customer Solutions department staff in understanding customer needs and helping to draft proposals for engineering improvements to the AP1000 Plant design.
TheCustomer Solution Engineer - AP1000(Engineer II or Senior Engineer) will support the Customer Solutions Manager and leads the Americas Engineered Solutions for Vogtle 3&4. This role will require supporting customer needs with differentiated and competitive offerings through understanding of customer-specific needs and requirements, solution selection, technical content of proposal, costing & pricing, responsiveness, and quality of bid. Knowledge of AP1000 product / technology area necessary to support customer interactions / negotiations as well as engage in emergent customer issues, and support resolution of challenges during execution of ongoing projects. Requires teamwork and collaboration with Global Markets, America's Sales, GOS (primarily Engineering and Supply Chain) to close on opportunities. Requires teamwork and collaboration with global product management to set implement strategy. Has overall responsibilities to support the CSM in aggregate financials, providing accurate forecasts, OE including pipeline growth, and MAS for product/technology areas. Specific focus areas to work collaboratively with SNC to drive more Engineering work into WEC to perform the Design Change Package work, perform other AE work.
Regular Duties and Responsibilities: Leverage customer relationships to facilitate understanding of customer needs and ultimately support proposals with strong value proposition to meet customer needs and secure OE. Use data to monitor market trends, customer buying patterns and competitor moves to adjust product positioning. Support SV3/4 engineering activities to aggregate product financials as well as regular financial forecasting. Support SV3/4 Engineering activities to develop resource demand signal for GOS engineering and manufacturing. Engage on emergent customer issues, leading team as needed until full engineering team is available and engaged, ultimately working with collective team to develop technical and commercial solution. Collaborate with project teams to understand status of projects, supporting resolution of challenges during project execution Ensure good understanding of Intellectual Property aspects of offers and ongoing projects; facilitate needed discussions to develop position on IP. Collaborate and co-ordinate with peers in OMS to ensure cohesive approach to market and holistic customer support and satisfaction (e.g., FAC inspections + FAC program engineering). Collaborate with global product management on product strategy, product roadmaps, technology roadmaps, innovation ideas, etc.
Who You Are: As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team: US Citizen or Permanent Resident, ability to hold a badge and a US NPP. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline Minimum 1 year of experience as an Engineer in AP1000 or equivalent technology. Knowledge of AP1000 processes, procedures, and organizational know-how. Knowledge about AP1000 Plant Technologies Strong technical interest, predisposition for multi-tasking, flexibility, understanding of project priorities and teamwork abilities Ability to work independent Engineer II - About 2+ years of related experience within or outside Westinghouse. Senior Engineer - About 5 + years of related experience within or outside Westinghouse. Desired Skills: P.E. preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills Strong time management skills (Working to a deadline while balancing multiple tasks). Knowledge of Project Management and Financial Management/Reporting Be detail oriented. Experience and knowledge with Microsoft Power Bi, Teams, and CoPilot Familiarity with the nuclear power plant designs for operating PWR and BWRs or advanced reactors or AP1000. Experience with Microsoft Office Software Suite Highly Motivated with a desire to learn and continually develop
