Westinghouse Electric Company Associate Project Manager in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania

Your Day-to-Day: Responsible for support of a project in various aspects of project management or project controls activities throughout the project lifecycle. Will be assigned to participate in project coordination activities or project controls functions (cost, schedule, report development) for minor work scope or projects of a repeatable nature under the supervision of a Project Manager or advanced level project controls professional, commensurate with experience and skill development. Once experience is achieved and progress toward a project manager or project controls qualification is underway, may be assigned portions of a low complexity project under supervision.

Perform project status planning and tracking or project schedule, cost, and/or risk updating and maintenance by working closely with the project team to gather required data and activity progress status input. Responsibilities will also include tracking requirements to completion, assist with gathering information in support of integrated change management process, status risks, track project finances such as labor charges, invoices, subcontracts and purchase orders, and prepare cost reports. Coordinate with SAP all changes and refinements to the WBS, activities, profit center codes, etc.

Routinely support Project Manager or advanced level project controls professional by reporting progress and status performance. When assigned project coordination activities, coordinate and document meetings, track action items, and track document/information flow. When assigned project controls activities, perform periodic updates to SAP, participate in project cost and schedule status update review meetings, monthly project review meetings, and prepare meeting minutes and action item lists.

Assist Project Manager, or advanced level project controls professional in establishing and maintaining project controls management systems, SAP, project schedule, risk register and/or monthly cost and forecasting reporting. Manage project records in standard databases, systems, and procedures to ensure efficient handling of project correspondence and documentation between project team members. Assist supervisor/Project Manager in establishing and maintaining visual display and tracking systems.

Interface with various stakeholders (internal management, team members, etc.). Gain fundamental understanding of industry technology and project controls/project management concepts.

Who You Are: As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team: Bachelor's degree or Westinghouse-defined equivalency. Preferred disciplines are Project Management, Engineering, Business, Accounting, Construction Management, or related technical discipline 1-3 years of Experience

Required Competencies: Communication Planning and Organization Teamwork Time Management Basic interpersonal skills such as effective verbal and written communications, ability to interact well with team members, ability to develop relationships with internal stakeholders, ability to make decisions and carry out multiple tasks as assigned with guidance from supervisory Project Managers, advanced level project controls professionals and mentors. Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools required. Knowledge and skill in SAP (or other financial systems), Primavera, and/or MS Project a plus. Ability to transform data into visual reports. Understand database concepts in order to manage data within sys ems. Understand the interaction of company functions that are touch points to projects (Finance, Legal, Quality, Supply Chain, etc.). Expected to successfully complete assigned training in Westinghouse Systems, Procedures, and Policies applicable to assignments.
