Covington is a city and the county seat of Newton County, Georgia, located 35 miles east of Atlanta. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 13,118.

The plant was built in 1967 manufactures polystyrene foam containers, and has approximately 370 Pactiv employees.

Responsibilities

Job Duties:

· This role serves as the financial lead for our Covington, GA and Bakersfield, CA manufacturing plants within the Foodservice business and interacts with functional areas from the Operations, Commercial, Engineering and Shared Services teams.

· The role consists of four core areas of responsibility with additional opportunities related to projects and subject matter expertise.

· Managing Financials– Responsible for the accuracy of all plant financials including production volume, conversion costs, material usage variance, and standard costs. A clear understanding of inventory and the controls process are key.

· Reporting & Analysis– Provides accurate, actionable and timely financial reporting, variance analysis, and commentary that leads to an understanding of the business enabling improved decision making and identification of opportunities.

· Planning– Partner with the Manufacturing Team on the development of periodic forecasts based on fact and sound judgment. Drive to achieve business objectives.

· Capital Management– Supports capital investment requests by providing accurate financial analysis that meets profitability goals.

· Projects– Identifies areas of opportunity in the business associated with continuous improvement in areas of financial performance, business acumen, processes, standard work, systems and other areas. Responsible for quantification and tracking of key projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

· BA/BS degree with an emphasis in finance/accounting and 2+ years relevant experience

· Strong communications and process skills – experience working with manufacturing required

· Detail oriented - able to drive down to a product level to develop an understanding of the business drivers

· Ability to effectively influence key decision makers to support recommended areas of opportunity

· Capable of communicating summarized results clearly and concisely at both a strategic and tactical level

· Strong analytical, research, and financial modeling skills

· Cost Accounting in the manufacturing industry - a PLUS

· Proficient computer and Microsoft Office skills with expertise in Excel data compilation and aggregation (i.e. pivot tables, VLookup, and Macros)

· SAP preferred but open to experience with other ERPs

· Must be able to travel up to 25% to support both manufacturing locations.
