A WAY OUT Sexual Assault Counselor in Coudersport, Pennsylvania
The SA Counselor will provide crisis/support services and related services to victims, children, and significant others of domestic violence in Potter County as needed.
General Description:
The Sexual Assault Counselor will be responsible for assisting in presenting to schools and community-based organizations. This person will also be responsible to provide direct service to victims of sexual assault and domestic abuse. The Sexual Assault counselor will also be responsible to assist in maintaining the ETO data base. In addition, this person will aid in recruiting and maintaining of volunteer records as well as training new volunteers. This is a 40-hour, non-exempt position that may require some evening, weekend, and holiday hours. The Sexual Assault Counselor is supervised by the Executive Director.
Required Skills/Activities:
- Must be able to work independently.
- Able to work with the public and have good oral and written communication skills.
- Must successfully complete 40-hour Sexual Assault Counseling training and 40-hour Domestic Violence.
- Must have a valid PA driver's license, access to a vehicle, and be willing to transport victims, if needed.
- Must have the ability to work flexible hours.
- Must be able to obtain Act 33 and Act 34 clearances.
