VP Sales: Become the Newest Member of the Vans Family

You will provide leadership and vision to drive product sales by planning, directing, and executing the activities of the Company's U.S. Wholesale Sales team and to attain maximum sales volume and profitability. Your dynamic, visible and inspirational leadership will positively impact business initiatives, direction, upholding distribution channel integrity, and provide vision for team. You are accountable for business results, profit & loss and executing key initiatives. You must bring a track record in managing a successful business and proven experience in strategic sales, business planning and team development.

How You Will Make a Difference:

  1. Responsible for the overall long-term profitable sales growth of the brand across the U.S.

  2. Manage all aspects of business relationships; maintain pro-active and positive customer relations and ascertaining that a world-class level of customer service is provided.

  3. Provide leadership and develop human capital; mentor staff to build a strong bench and build effective succession planning.

  4. Manage preseason sales plan, in season tracking, and “executes all go to market activities” (seasonal objectives, sales meeting, cross broader account strategies, major account appointments, and negotiations).

  5. Manage on going order book health (monitor and review territory and division plans, seasonal discount structures). Monitor shipment of seasonal order book, specifically preseason, bulk, reorder and close-out order types.

  6. Partner with Americas’ Sr. Management in the long-term strategic planning process for category, channel, environments and territories across the U.S.

  7. Provide and share consistent marketplace intelligence tracking against all key strategic product and marketing initiatives, product sell in and sell out, and channel/environment performance to inform future marketplace strategies.

  8. Oversee vendor compliance, documentation and negotiation for accounts and territories. Establish and maintain contact with existing potential customers and actively participate in selling effort to support key accounts and high-level sales (tops to tops).

  9. Accelerate our wholesale digital capabilities through enhanced service, strategy, and competencies enabling new consumer opportunities to fuel forward looking growth through segmentation.

Skills for Success:

Years of Related Professional Experience: 12+ years

Educational/ Position Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and a minimum of 10 years general management experience in the Sales field or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

  • Experience working in the Retail industry

  • Master’s Degree Preferred.

Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:

  • Travel by air and overnight, as required 50% amount of time.

  • Lifting and/or bending 10lbs amount of weight.
