What will you do?
A day in the life of a Sr. Manager, Global Merchandising Operations at Vans looks a little like this.
Reporting directly into the Chief Merchant, this leader drives operational efficiency in product & merchandising workflows by aligning cross-functional, cross-regional teams. This role is critical to ensuring operational excellence, driving efficiency, and enabling seamless execution of merchandising strategies. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in merchandising operations, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration, with a passion for supporting a global merchandising organization at scale. Their key responsibilities include calendar management, process improvement in collaboration with Supply Chain / Development teams to deliver market-ready products, & data management / hygiene to support seasonal execution.

Project management against all E2E milestones - Manage the global product and merchandising calendar, aligning cross-regional and cross-functional timelines and collaborate to adapt as needed. Track milestone progress & proactively manage bottlenecks / create contingency plans / solve operational challenges as they arise.
Data management & hygiene - Oversee data governance and accuracy within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems to support consistent product information across global teams
Ad hoc analysis - Provide product reporting and analytics to drive data-informed decision-making in support of seasonal execution
Process improvements - Identify process gaps and implement solutions to streamline workflows. Work with the Brand Merch Leader to connect operational priorities with overarching merchandising strategies. Continuously refine governance of he "One VF" way via templates, standardization, etc.
Operational Strategy & Execution - Lead the development and execution of global merchandising operations strategies, aligning with corporate goals and regional needs. Establish and standardize processes for merchandise lifecycle management, including assortment planning, pricing and product flow. Implement tools, systems, and best practices to improve operational efficiency and streamline workflow.
Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with global and regional merchandising, supply chain, product, planning, and GTM teams to ensure alignment on merchandising priorities and timelines. Act as the primary liaison between merchandising and cross-functional operations teams to drive seamless execution of product launches, replenishments, samples, and seasonal transitions. Support integration of omnichannel initiatives into merchandising operations.
Technology & Systems Management - Oversee the implementation and maintenance of merchandising systems, ensuring functionality aligns with business needs. Collaborate with DT and external vendors to evaluate and deploy new tools and technology solutions. Provide training and support to global teams on merchandising systems and processes.
What do you need to succeed?
We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 7+ years of experience and professional achievements in merchandising operations, retail operations, or related roles, with experience in a leadership position.
The foundation skills you will need in this position are:
Strong understanding of merchandising processes including product lifecycle management, GMT, assortment planning, and pricing.
Communication and influence
Project management (managing calendars, timelines, and key deliverables for global launches)
Operational excellence (expertise in managing complex workflows and identifying process improvements)
Data accuracy and governance (experience in managing PLM systems and data integrity)
Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working across diverse markets and cultures.
A collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.
- Experience in omni-channel or digital retail operations.

Hiring Range :
$120,960.00 USD - $151,200.00 USD annually
Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
