Minimum/Required Qualifications A PhD degree in ichthyology, fish ecology, fisheries science, or a closely related natural resource field by position start date. Expertise in natural history, phylogenetic, biogeographic, and/or ecological relationships of fishes. Applied and basic research experience related to systematics, behavior, physiology, population or community ecology, or conservation and management of native and wild fishes. Experience or interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. Demonstrated commitment to working professionally and inclusively with people from diverse backgrounds. Position Duties 40% Research and Scholarship Maintain an externally funded research program in ichthyology that utilizes the OSU Ichthyology Collection https://ichthyology.oregonstate.edu/ and adheres to OSU\'s requirements for research integrity, compliance, and safety. 30% Teaching and Advising Teach 2-3 assigned FWCS courses per year (including FW 315 Ichthyology and FW 316 Systematics of Fishes) in accordance with the department\'s compensation policy. OSU is on a quarter system. 20% Museum Curation and Outreach Serve as Curator of the OSU Ichthyology Collection, including oversight of maintenance and expansion of the collection, database management, and coordination of access to the collection\'s holdings. 10% Service Serve the profession by participating in relevant professional organizations, refereeing for professional journals and granting agencies, and/or by serving as an advisory member for state, federal, or international agency committees.
