SUNY Cortland Visiting Assistant Professor, Sport Management in Cortland, New York
Position Summary:
SUNY Cortland faculty are responsible for contributing to an academic community dedicated to diverse learning experiences. This is accomplished through outstanding teaching, research and/or scholarship, service to the department and college, and by providing academic advisement and mentoring to our students. Faculty are expected to maintain a routine presence on campus to support our Campus Values of Focusing on the Students, Integrity, and Intellectual Life and serve our Campus Priorities of Academic Excellence, Transformational Education, Well-being, and the Maximization of Resources.
Major Responsibilities:
Teaching
Teach undergraduate and/or graduate sport management courses
- Teaching assignments will depend on department needs, expertise, and experience.
Other
Demonstrate understanding of the theory-to-practice model of teaching
Demonstrate a commitment to equity, inclusion, diversity, and social justice.
Provide leadership in teaching, research, or service toward building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment.
Demonstrate a desire to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrate commitment to educating students to become global citizens.
Required Qualifications:
A master’s degree in Sport Management or a closely related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience
- Sport industry experience including but not limited to any of the following fields: intercollegiate administration, strategic management, digital media, media production, and event management. Teaching experience in these areas is highly valued as is experience with student/industry internship programs and student advising.
