SUNY Cortland Lecturer I - Communication Disorders and Sciences in Cortland, New York

Position Summary:

SUNY Cortland is accepting applications for a 10-month full-time Lecturer I position with responsibilities to include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, clinical supervision, and service.

THE DEPARTMENT :

The Communication Disorders and Sciences Department is housed in the School of Professional Studies. It is home to nearly 200 students, both graduate and undergraduate, and offers research lab space and an audiology suite. Faculty are engaged in research and other scholarly activities at the local, state, national, and international levels. Mentoring in the development of a funded research agenda is also available. The department has an established history of inter-professional education and is committed to expanding these opportunities for teaching and learning. Our program emphasizes experiential learning and is committed to the theory-to-practice model of teaching. Please note: candidates may be considered for higher lecturer rank based on additional years of teaching, clinical practice experience, and clinical supervision experience beyond the minimum qualification.

Major Responsibilities:

Teaching:

Undergraduate and graduate courses, clinical supervision.

Service:

Service to the department.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

M.A/M.S in speech-language pathology/communication disorders, audiology, or related field, or a clinical doctorate (Au.D.) will be considered.

Certification:

Hold or be eligible for American Speech-Language-Hearing Association ( ASHA ) Certificate of Clinical Competence – Speech-Language Pathology ( CCC - SLP ) or Audiology ( CCC -A).

Licensure:

Hold or be eligible for New York State license from the Office of the Professions to practice as a speech-language pathologist or an audiologist.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in clinical delivery and supervision of services within the scope of practice of a certified Audiologist; expertise in the areas of hearing anatomy, hearing science, audiology, and aural rehabilitation; and expertise in the areas of hearing anatomy, hearing science, audiology, and aural rehabilitation are highly preferred, but all areas of expertise will be considered.
