Admissions Temporary Staff- Job Description

Hourly Position

Admissions

  • Process graduate applications

  • Calculate GPA's / Data entry into CaneLink and Slate

  • Help to coordinate graduate audition days and be on-campus for these events

  • Schedule auditions, warm-up times/room assignments

  • Make room reservations, set-up, and management

  • Produce audition schedules

  • Audition and portfolio score data entry

  • Back-up tour guide and monitor/secondary lead - phone, voicemails, admissions email boxes

Graduate Studies

  • Track submission of official transcripts for matriculated students

  • Record and report entrance exam results

  • Follow up on graduate student submission of required documents (Standard Release, TA Work Assignment Form, Recital Evaluations)

  • Oversee filing of documents into digital academic records

  • Migrating admissions folders into student academic records

  • Conduct format checking for Non-ETD Final Project submissions

  • Other duties as assigned

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School degree or equivalent required; bachelors degree preferred.

  • CaneLink and other University of Miami systems experience preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.

  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accurate data entry.

Suggested dates of employment:

Dec 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025

Work Location:

Hybrid position (in person and remote, to be negotiated).

Will have designated workspace in the Frost School of Music.
