Core Responsibilities

You’ll initially spend your time driving the modernization of our order management services in Digital Technology at The LEGO Group. In this role, you will provide technical leadership to design, build, and optimize our direct-to-consumer order management services, ensuring services are scalable, reliable, aligned with strategic goals and best practices.

  • Lead the end-to-end technical objective for modernization of order management services.

  • Architect, design, and build scalable solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and features.

  • Mentor and guide a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure high-quality standards, performance, and security of the product domain.

  • Lead by example to create a safe and inclusive culture.

Play your part in our team succeeding

Working closely with Product Managers and Engineering Managers, our Lead Engineers play a key role in the team providing technical guidance and helping to make critical technical decisions ensuring that the applications we build are secure, scalable, maintainable and meet our performance expectations.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Demonstrated experience working with event-driven architecture (Kafka, Pulsar, Kinesis) and modern JavaScript and Typescript development environments (i.e. Node.js, Javascript, Typescript, PNPM).

  • Strong experience leveraging CI/CD (GitHub Actions), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and serverless computing, i.e. our API event-based services layer is built mostly on the AWS Serverless stack – CDK, Lambda, API Gateway, Event Bridge, ECS, SQS, SNS, Kinesis and DynamoDB.

  • Solid understanding of microservices, API-first, cloud-native SaaS, headless (MACH) design principles and best practices for building highly scalable and maintainable systems.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to driving results.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience building observability (i.e. Elastic and Kibana for data visualizations, APM and alerting) for high-volume and high-velocity transactions and designing systems that can handle the demands of real-time or near-real-time data
