Job Description

We are currently hiring a Lead Engineer, Data Platform to join our data engineering team at our headquarters in Billund, Denmark or Copenhagen Digital Hub.

Core Responsibilities

  • Curious and passionate about building software platforms

  • Provide technical leadership and direction setting for product teams

  • Technical sparring partner and role model for engineers and data specialists

  • Collaborate with and support Product Managers

  • Be a part of the Data Platform leadership team with people leaders and other lead engineers

Play your part in our team succeeding

As a lead engineer in Data Platform, you will join the Data Platform leadership team, that shares an ongoing commitment towards unlocking the true value of data. Lead engineers work with and support our product teams in reaching their goals, with direction setting, technical leadership and their extensive technical knowledge.

Lead engineers play an important role in both complex development work and broader architecture discussions that link all the pieces of our platform together.

Do you have what it takes?

You come from background from computer science or a related discipline or equivalent working experience in software and platform engineering. In addition, you have:

  • Deep technical knowledge of cloud infrastructure in AWS/Azure, CI/CD and API development/design

  • Understanding domain driven design and loosely coupled architecture

  • Effective communication skills with ability to get people involved in complex technical decision and ability to drive decisions forward

  • Ability to focus and keep oversight in a constantly evolving environment

  • Fearless when diving into unknown/old code bases and architectures to drive understanding

  • Solid experience with programming languages like Python and Go

  • Experience in operating DataBricks and infrastructure as code

  • Experience with container orchestration – like Kubernetes (AKS, EKS, GKE)

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with Spark, Airflow

  • Experience with monitoring tools like Elastic and PagerDuty

  • Knowledge of data tools like PowerBI, Alteryx, Posit Workbench, Tableau or SAP BW
