WorkSource Oregon Job Coach in Coos Bay, Oregon

Working with a team to provide support to persons with barriers to obtain, or maintain stability in community integrated employment Duties and Responsibilities: * Provide hands-on training, supervision and support to participants at a variety of work locations * Explain and demonstrate tasks and work with individuals in a variety of tasks to ensure the individual understands job duties, and all tasks are completed * Assesses participant skills, abilities and limitations * Performs type of work supervised. May work a variety of shifts and locations, including weekends or evenings. * Ensures all paperwork and related activities are current, accurate and in compliance. * Work with staff to develop, monitor and resolve skills training, vocational or behavioral issues. * Assist with placing participants in competitive employment * Transport via personal vehicle * Carries small caseload on a limited basis, as assigned * Serves as back up for other sites and may rotate periodically throughout a variety of job coaching positions * Use of a provided computer or tablet for data input using word processing and task management software * Maintain case notes Compensation: * Competitive wage DOE * Room for rapid advancement in a growing company * Friendly and supportive work environment * Paid vacation Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent, Must be at least 18 years of age * 6 months of Job Coaching experience or 1 year in a human services field * Work experience that lends itself to success in a skills training situation * Current Oregon driver\'s license with a clean driving record and current insurance or State issued Identification Card * Ability to pass a criminal history check Competencies: * Meets productivity requirements * Manage people effectively * Handle crisis situations effectively * Relate well with participants, staff and community partners * Ability to increase participant vocational and productivity skills * Contributes to building a positive team spirit with the work team and participants * Prioritizes, plans and schedules participant work activities. * Uses time efficiently. Changes approach/method to best fit situation * Adapt to changing work assignments, for both the participant and the job coach * Read and interpret documents such as case notes, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals * Writes clearly and informatively including reports, case notes, and other written documentation * Timeliness and accuracy in report writing and record keeping * Ability to accurately prepare reports, case notes and other record-keeping documents * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form * Perform basic math functions * Comfortable with word processing software
