job purpose :

The Distribution Supply Planner is responsible for customer service, order management, finished goods deployment, and fulfillment planning across our warehouse network. They will process order updates and communication to supply planners within the distribution network. This role will drive value by effectively managing order status requests, communicating inventory position, and providing regular updates to internal and external stakeholders regarding our ability to service demand down to a SKU level for all locations.

responsibilities:

  • Understand the dynamics of production planning, capacity of a distribution network, and risks to ensuring adequate supply.

  • Report and provide direction on daily outgoing shipments, which consists of making sure inventory is available for scheduled outbound loads and calling out any potential risks.

  • Manages the shipment scheduling and deployment of finished goods inventory across the warehouse network based on the production schedule, including the alignment of customer purchase orders, shuttles, and stock transfer orders.

  • Work with Commercial and Customer Service partners on maintaining and ensuring the delivery of customer allocations as well as the ownership of maintaining and improving customer service metrics including but not limited to OTIF, case fill rate, and Perfect Order.

  • Responsible for network warehouse storage and throughput capacity utilization in partnership with the Warehouse Operations team.

  • Determine action during out-of-stock situations and lead communication to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support the Transportation and Customer Service teams in determining the best routes when impromptu scheduling of freight is needed.

  • Balance available production capacity against customer demand to ensure freight network is modeled appropriately.

  • Work with Quality Assurance on finished good release timing, follow up on any quality risks to understand impact on inventory and timing.

  • Lead reconciliation of finished goods inventory variances with warehouse operations team.

  • Work closely with accounts payable to make sure orders are fulfilled and completed for month end.

skills/qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Previous professional experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, or Operations

  • Skill in organizing tasks and establishing priorities.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail required.

  • Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Access) skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Conducts themselves with a high-level of integrity and transparency.

  • Has a strong customer service mindset and ability to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders.

  • Brings a true ownership mindset and is willing to partner cross-functionally.

  • Programming (SQL/Python) and Data Visualization (PowerBI) preferred.

  • Dynamics 365 experience preferred but not required.

  • Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required that may affect product quality or food safety.

  • Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.

  • Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.

  • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.

  • Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.

  • Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

  • In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required.
