Bassett Healthcare Audiologist in Cooperstown, New York

What you'll do The Audiologist performs clinical tests of hearing for the assessment of communication needs as well as assessment of balance function. The audiologists work closely with the ENT providers for purposes of contributing to medical diagnoses of hearing. They interpret and counsel patients as per the implications of the findings and, in appropriate cases, provides rehabilitative services primarily involving the use of hearing aids and/or implanted devices. Opportunities exist for vestibular, central auditory processing, and evoked potential testing as well as fitting of hearing aids, cochlear implants, and bone anchored devices. Performs audiologic evaluations - Perform audiologic evaluations on populations ranging from newborn to geriatric as well as children and adults with special needs. This may include tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, otoacoustic emissions, and central auditory processing evaluations. Perform evoked potential testing with and without sedation. Ability to perform and interpret diagnostic vestibular testing preferred. Amplification devices - Perform selection, fitting, and verification of amplification devices for pediatric, adult and special needs populations. Familiarity with Signia, Phonak, Oticon and ReSound preferred. Cochlear Implants and Hearing Aids- Experience with cochlear implants and bone anchored hearing aids appreciated but not required, using Cochlear Americas and Advanced Bionics devices. Performs similar or related duties as requested or directed What we need from you Education: Master's or Doctorate in Audiology, required Licensure/Certifications: New York licensure in Audiology or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months from date of hire, required New York State Hearing Aid Dispenser License or ability to obtain licensure within 12 months from date of hire, required Skills: Accountability Attention to Detail Communication Interacting with People Multi-Tasking Physical Requirements: Light Work - Exerting up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. Pay Range Minimum: USD $33.96/Hr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $50.94/Hr.
