Lutron is looking for a self-motivated, collaborative Strategic Buyer -- Mechanical Components to join our team at our Worldwide Headquarters in Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be a key member of our procurement team, developing the strategies used to strengthen Lutron's supply chain and maintain our position as the world-leading lighting and shade control provider. You will apply your knowledge for commodity management to Lutron's evolving business needs through the management of executive-level supplier relationships. In this role, you will serve as a key communications link between Lutron internal customers and vendors, ensuring supplier capabilities match company needs and service levels are met to deliver on-time customer solutions.

Responsibilities

Enhance our operational flexibility and profitability through the creation and execution of a strategic commodity planWork collaboratively to build a world class supply chain, improve delivery rates to customers, and reduce risk through the execution of supply strategiesSelect, manage and develop our key plastics and mechanical suppliersDevelop and implement cost reduction, tool life and capacity strategies through value analysis, inventory management, and optimizationTake ownership of propagating Lutron's supplier culture globallyDevelop executive-level supplier relationshipsContinuously benchmark suppliers to ensure best-in-class commodity managementSolve emerging supply chain problems, such as logistical challenges, material supply availability and vendor capabilityEnsure suppliers are meeting our expectations of service level performanceHelp new product teams develop relationships with new and existing suppliers to match product needs with supplier capabilitiesWork with business teams to ensure proper forecasting of components and matching vendor supply

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in supply chain, business, technical engineering, or related fieldMinimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for all degrees earnedMinimum 5 years of work experince in commodity management or as a strategic buyerWillingness to travel approximately 10% of the time, sometimes with little or no notice
