Role Summary: Flowserve is looking for a motivated Manager of the Order Management team to monitor and support the sales support representatives and project managers in developing and sustaining customer relationships including effective communications that grows or enhances a productive relationship between the parties across site portfolio of project work. Participate in, and manage as required, discussions and negotiations with the customer to resolve an issue or engage the customer to reach a successful conclusion of an activity with viable solutions. Daily collaboration is required with customers, cross-functional departments, intercompany operations, and corporate resources to successfully execute in this role.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Drive adherence to the established execution work process and effective utilization of a project management system to proactively monitor and analyze key aspects of the execution of the customer orders
Provide operational oversight of the day-to-day execution of the order fulfillment process across the portfolio of work to include as a minimum schedule adherence, budget compliance, change management, technical and quality compliance, project financial performance, and risk assessment and mitigation
Provide support to the project managers to integrate critical thinking and forward-looking decision making that leverages established project management concepts and principals in all aspects of the execution of work
Maintain a strong cadence of communication to key Flowserve stakeholders to ensure all parties are kept informed regarding the status of the order fulfillment process and process performance (OTD, margins, COPQ, past due backlog, etc.)
Effectively communicate monthly (and more frequently as required) the financial performance of the portfolio of projects to internal Flowserve stakeholders
Ensure each project manager maintains a cadence of communication with their customer to keep them informed of the status of their project, including monthly project status reporting, etc.
Develop, implement, and track continuous improvement activities that are designed to drive operational effectiveness & efficiency within the order fulfillment process
Proactively direct the allocation and assignment of all resources and ensure personnel capability and capacity are sufficient to support the short-term and long-term requirements
Ensure the function of project execution and the work produced for all projects follow the site quality procedures, the applicable regulatory code requirements, and with all relevant Flowserve policies and procedures
Actively communicate with the site leadership team and proactively participate with the continued development, deployment, and implementation of continuous improvement
Maintains ownership of total order execution process, which includes order processing, OTD, documentation management, and supporting AR
Facilitates warranty / returns process and ensures timely closure and responsiveness to customers
Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress.
Computer literacy and strong proficiency with Microsoft base products
Advocates and supports the Flowserve performance culture and ensures that performance is actively differentiated and managed within the business unit or function
Communicates effectively with the full range of internal stakeholders—from associates to leadership— and ensures that programs, processes and initiatives within the business unit or function are communicated in a clear and effective manner. Capable of quickly establishing credibility, influencing constituencies and persuading professionals at all levels
Excellent analytical and strategic skills. Good business judgment and problem-solving skills with solid economic, industry and competitive landscape insight
Builds organizations that effectively adapt and develop world-class practices from inside or outside the industry to create powerful competitive advantage
Establishes conditions systematically for high performance teamwork based on the requirements of the situation
BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 8-10 years relevant experience
