EMCOR Group Assistant Estimator in Conyers, Georgia

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Estimator; you will play a critical role in preparing cost estimates for mechanical projects. Working closely with experienced estimators and project managers, you will help ensure our projects are accurately estimated and competitively priced. This is a new position that is involved in the day-to-day oversight and resolving issues, making sure the budgeting is in alignment with estimates, labor management, and invoicing oversight.

What you’ll do:

· Project Review: Collaborate with estimators and project managers to review project specifications, drawings, and technical documents to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements.

· Quantity Takeoff: - Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for materials, equipment, labor, and subcontractor services required for project execution.

· Cost Estimation: - Assist in preparing comprehensive cost estimates, including detailed breakdowns of labor, material, equipment, subcontractor costs, and overhead.

· Vendor and Supplier Coordination: - Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and equipment, ensuring that all necessary cost data is collected.

· Estimate Documentation: - Organize, detail, and maintain accuracy.

· Participate in the preparation and submission of bids and proposals to clients. Ensure bids are submitted accurately and on time.

What you’ll need (minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred but not required.

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in estimating software

  • Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • A desire to learn and grow in the field of mechanical estimating.

Nice to have:

· Advanced skills in Excel

· Experience working with Autobid and/ or Fastpipe
