The Credit Operations Specialist is responsible for administering construction loan draws, due diligence background checks, and letters of credit.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Gather and review all necessary documents to process construction loan draws. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.\
  2. Set up and manage projects in the administration management portal. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.\
  3. Consult with loan officers, loan assistants, and inspectors to create a draw schedule and coordinate inspections. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.\
  4. Order due diligence background check reports on prospective and existing borrowers for new and renewing loans. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.\
  5. Conduct OFAC checks needed for the background check. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.\
  6. Monitor and balance letters of credit, working with other departments to process exceptions and resolve issues. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.\
  7. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed daily.\
  8. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.\
  9. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc., plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.
