Summary:

The Manufacturing Project Manager will drive new product / project introduction into manufacturing. Once in production, oversees the operations of the project and drives resources to meet delivery targets.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Executes aspects of the corporate product development and New Product Introduction processes.

  • Engages in planning, and coordinating designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of the project are accomplished on time and within budget.

  • Coordinates project activities with multiple internal functions including but not limited to Engineering, Supply Chain, Product Management, Sales, Direct Customers, Finance, and Manufacturing

  • Supports resolution of production issues through verifying the situation, classifying the problem, assigning resolution to the correct team (Engineering, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, etc.), and driving for timely completion of corrective actions.

  • Manages the production infrastructure to meet current and forecast business levels. This includes tools, fixtures, floor space, material location and storage, MRP system usage, and data collection and storage to optimize process and create robust argument for change.

  • Collects and analyzes data related to operations metrics to define and drive higher performance. These need to align with and support the top-level corporate metrics of product quality, delivery to commitment and total production cost.

  • Produces technical justifications and specifications for new layouts of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and work force utilization.

  • Performs other job related duties as required.

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Manufacturing discipline, with minimum of 2-4+ years of hands-on experience, preferably in an electronics contract manufacturing environment.

  • Commensurate offsetting experience in the science of manufacturing without a degree, may be considered.

  • Project Management Professional Certification ( PMP ) is preferred.

  • Knowledge of MS Office tools such as Word, PPT, Project or Visio, Excel etc.

    Responsibility for Quality Procedures, Ethical Practices and Data Integrity:

  • Adheres to Universal Instruments Quality System policies and procedures.

  • Follows ethical practices for data collection, analysis, reporting and assures integrity of reported results.

    Physical Demands:

  • Frequently required to access and manipulate various objects, tools, or controls.

  • Ability to understand and interpret detailed documents and drawings.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly with fellow colleagues and in giving presentations.

  • Ability to travel to company, customer sites or technical conferences may occasionally be required.

    Target Annual Base Pay: $80,000 - $90,000 + Robust Benefits
