Business Development Manager

Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong sales, negotiation, and leadership skills. Additionally, this position will involve the management and oversight of Applications Engineers to ensure technical support aligns with business development goals, as well as advising product management to guide the development and improvement of our offerings.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Analyze backend semiconductor and PCBA equipment markets to identify strategic growth opportunities, and drive penetration strategy.

  • Performs competitive analyses and establishes product pricing strategy.

  • Develops marketing collateral and deployment value proposition.

  • Prioritizes solutions for backend semiconductor equipment market with engineering and drives deployment.

  • Guides cross functional teams, including internal sales teams and distribution channels.

  • Manages segment to meet business objectives for revenue, margin and market share.

  • Identifies technical capabilities and prioritize solutions to address competitive weaknesses and gaps relative to customer requirements which impact business objective achievement.

  • Supports engineering product management to ensure customer requirements are understood.

  • Develops Marketing Requirements Documents (MRDs) which enable engineering definition and development of differentiated product solutions.

  • Establishes effective road maps with engineering and customers that meets ROI objectives.

    Principal Accountabilities (General Supervisory)

  • Performs supervisory functions for staff including performance appraisal input, establishing and implementing team/individual Critical Success Factors, including the measurement and documentation of the progress of each employee toward the established goals.

  • Implements cross-training activities and plans for employees under his/her direction with specific attention toward the development of a highly flexible work force.

  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work-related problems.

  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

    Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field of study; MBA highly desirable.

  • 3+ years of individual contribution experience capital equipment marketing, Semiconductor experience is a plus.

  • 1-3 years of relevant supervisory experience.

  • Sense of urgency and persistent drive for results.

  • Confidence with multi-level, direct and indirect global distribution channels

  • Excellent communication and leadership characteristics to engage effectively with global sales, engineering and applications teams.

  • Ability to make effective customer presentations

    Responsibility for Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality

  • Adheres to Universal Quality System policies and procedures and uses Total Cycle Time principles and standard problem solving tools to continuously improve work processes.

    Physical Demands

  • Requires the ability to use a computer on a frequent basis

  • Remaining stationary for extended periods, and needs to be mobile enough to navigate through work areas

  • Ability to travel to customer sites, trade shows or conferences; 20%+ expected (domestic and international)

    Target Annual Base Pay: $110,000 – $120,000 + Robust Benefits
