Oracle Software Development Manager in Concord, New Hampshire

Job Description

As an Engineering Manager you will own the team vision and execution of software design and development for major components of Oracle’s Health and AI platform. You will apply your technical and organizational skills to solve delivery, support, and operational optimizations, while modernizing the services platform to meet the needs of next generation clinical application development. Millennium Service Platform is the foundation for a multitude of data flows enabling mission critical functions ranging from patient prescriptions to surgery rooms for our customers across the globe.

The model candidate should have technical depth, architectural know how, passion for building world class team and demonstrated ability to balance work across initiatives. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

About the Role:

  • The role will be responsible for managing a team of 6+ engineers with a variety of skillsets and experience levels.

  • The role will be responsible for coordinating with our product teams on work and priority to ensure the team has a concise vision and set of goals prepared.

  • The role will be responsible for ensuring the team meets key metrics, establishes milestones, and manages and achieves commitments.

About You

  • You have solid communication skills. You can clearly explain complex technical concepts.

  • You have clear operational expectations from the system, and engineers, and can drive culture to form the go-forward basis for operational excellence with the team.

  • You have exposure to Cloud, SaaS, and virtualization concepts and performance concerns.

  • You contain knowledge and have experience defining and monitoring system’s quality measures, SLO, and SLA.

  • You have built tooling to improve reliability of systems, automated remediation of issues, and improving scalability of platforms and systems.

  • You work backward, starting from the user or consumer. You care about creating usable, useful software that solves real problems and brings delight to users.

  • You work well with everyone. You can lead a conversation in a room with designers, engineers, and product managers.

  • You are comfortable with ambiguity. You have a strong sense of ownership and are able to drive development of new projects and features to completion.

  • You are comfortable working at all levels of the stack

Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience delivering and operating big-data application services and analytics.

  • 3+ years leading high performing engineering teams.

  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.

  • Strong understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage, and distributed persistence technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in managing large-scale, big-data focused projects.

  • Experience in managing network and security expectations, requirements, and operations.

  • Experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.

  • Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plus.

  • Comfortable in a collaborative, agile development environment.

  • Experience with Java programming language.

Desired Qualification:

  • Ability to pass a public trust determination.

Hiring Range: from $112,300 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
