This position receives Hazardous Duty Pay, paid biweekly at $60.
This position offers a Trainee Status* at the following pay rate: $19.23

Schedule:
Monday - Wednesday from 07:00 - 15:00 with Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday off
The State of New Hampshire, Department of Corrections, Division of Administration - Logistics has a part time vacancy for a Plant Maintenance Engineer I.
Summary:
To perform responsible technical and supervisory activities for the building maintenance and heating plant operations at the New Hampshire State Prison, while working in close and immediate contact with prisoners on a daily basis and having responsibility for security.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS:
Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:Completion of high school, G.E.D. or its equivalent, plus two years of technical training or education in engineering or building trades. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience:Three years' experience in maintenance and repair or construction of buildings or facilities including one year in a supervisory capacity. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
License/Certification:Possession of a valid NH driver's license and/or access to transportation for statewide travel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates that have a Journeyman or Master Electricians License.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Provides supervision of residents in the performance of boiler and HVAC maintenance activities.
Performs complex work in planning, assisting in supervising, and actively participating in a program of building maintenance and heating plant operations to assure that all work meets federal, state, local and ACA Standards.
Repairs, rebuilds, sets-up or relocates plant operating systems, equipment and machinery as necessary to ensure that all safety and security requirements are met.
Administers initiative and good judgement in supervision of all building electrical and mechanical tradesmen and mechanics assigned to maintenance projects. Reviews work of residents to assure adherence to plans, specifications and standards.
Prepares and updates maintenance records and follows preventive maintenance schedules to extend the operating life of equipment.
Assists the Plant Maintenance Engineer IV in compiling annual budgetary requirements for the maintenance department so that all supplies and equipment are obtained and that necessary work orders are complete so existing buildings can be maintained.
Assists in the daily control of issuing equipment, supplies and materials to ensure performance of maintenance operation activities are not interrupted, that security is maintained, and work orders are completed.
