Robert Half Staff Accountant in Concord, California

Description

We are offering an opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the bustling city of Concord, California. This role is within the industry of accountancy and finance, with the primary functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management. The workplace is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will be required to handle and manage various customer accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounting:

  • Support Accounts Receivable, including invoicing to funders, and posting payments.

  • Review and record donors, and pledge payments posting to ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance.

  • Support budget preparations, modifications, and entries into the accounting systems.

  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements to all the Program Managers and directors.

  • Prepare monthly payroll entries and worksheets as needed.

  • Investigate and correct all issues related to the income and expense accounts in the general ledger.

  • Review, research & reconcile internal/external reports and statements.

  • Assist with timely monthly closings and special projects.

  • Back up for Accounts Payable Department

  • Prepare accounting schedules for individual grant and contract audits, and for the annual audit.

    Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Minimum 4 years applicable experience.

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Business related degree preferred.

  • Be able to perform full-charge bookkeeping services, including general ledger, payroll, statistical reporting, and account analysis.

  • Familiarity with PC’s and experience using a variety of accounting software; preferred Sage Intacct

  • Experience with Windows environment, spreadsheet and word processing, knowledge of Excel

  • Be able to organize and carry out assigned tasks with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Monitor own work to deliver quality, timely and well-organized information.

  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team

  • Identify ways to improve and promote quality and accuracy in financial systems.

  • Sensitivity to social issues and human needs which LSS programs address.

  • Knowledge of fund accounting and not for profit accounting issues is desirable.
