Duties:
Design cold-formed metal stud walls and floor trusses using FrameCAD software.
Work closely with Structural Engineers to design structurally stable wall panels and floor trusses.
Apply engineering principles related to wall panel and truss design, construction, or structural modifications.
Prepare shop drawings for submission to the city and production of the Wall Panels and Floor Trusses.
Review design criteria of construction documents to ensure wall panels and trusses are designed per plans, specifications, and industry standards.
Coordinate with Plumbing, mechanical, and electrical agencies for any clashes between FRAMECAD Walls panels and other construction equipment.
Review and monitor the fabrication of the wall panels and floor trusses.
Assist and coordinate with Structural Engineers and Contractors to solve technical problems related to the wall panel and floor truss design.
Prepare transportation and installation plans for wall panels.
Work with the Engineering department to develop and implement more efficient and effective CAD/Revit methods and processes.
Apply new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the development effort.
Requirements: Bachelor's (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, or a related field and 6 months of experience as a Trainee Engineer, FrameCAD Designer, Design Engineer, or a related position (internship experience accepted). Experience is required and must include:
Utilizing CAD software and file management.
Drawing and planning structural construction document
Utilizing IBC and general US construction design codes to conduct structural engineering calculations on construction projects.
