The Assistant Controller directs financial activities of an organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Key contributor all aspects of inventory costing and supports manufacturing performance improvement efforts as needed.
Leads preparation capital request process (RFA). Provide support for analytics that communicates project ROI. Maximizes return, and limits risks, on making investments. Drive and generates Cash optimization.
Responsible for direction and review of work product of Accounting Department staff and mentor the cost accountant where needed. Works with the Controller to assess and provide necessary talent development to support current business needs as well as future growth.
Responsible for the month end close process to ensure timely and accurate completion of the close including preparation assigned journal entries. Assists in the maintenance and preparation of monthly financial reports. Willing to be hands on to assist in the documentation and recording of complex transactions.
Works with the Controller to identify Continuous Improvement projects both in the accounting and cross functional department and sets appropriate milestones to achieve. Fosters a culture that seeks to challenge the status quo and drive improvement.
Identify & supports cross functional continuous improvement projects as needed. Develops analyses as required to support critical business decisions . Drive cross functional process efficiency through adoption of technology or ERP functionalities. Works with IT to drive necessary ERP modifications.
Helps to ensure internal controls are in place and operating effectively by monitoring transactions and identifying deficiencies. Ensures company procedures are in line with Corporate policies.
Helps company achieve budget objectives by establishing, monitoring, analyzing critical business and manufacturing KPIs. Provides ad hoc analytics to summarize and illustrate business risk or opportunities.
Assists in the preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
Assists the controller in the preparation of the annual budget and recurring forecasts. Identify Risk and opportunities with cross functional teams, develops mitigation plan for risks. Drives forecast accuracy.
Assists in preparation and execution of various audits of company's accounts.
