Gurwin Healthcare System is a full continuum of care providing extraordinary care and caring to the people that we serve. Set on a 36-acre campus in Commack, NY, the Gurwin Healthcare System includes the 460-bed Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, providing short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, memory care, respiratory and ventilator care, palliative and hospice care, social and medical adult day programs, and on-site dialysis and infusion therapy. Sharing the campus is Gurwin’s Assisted Living community (Gurwin Jewish Fay J. Lindner Residences), our independent living community (Fountaingate Gardens) and Gurwin Certified and Licensed Home Care Services Agencies.

We are currently seeking an RN Nursing Supervisor in our Adult Day Care Program who will embody the passion and commitment required to deliver the ultimate care for our participants. You will be scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm with some weekend coverage as a possibility.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

• Current New York State license to practice as a Registered Nurse

• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent preferred

• Previous work experience, including practice, teaching and supervision (recent Adult Day Health Care or Public Health experience preferred)

• CPR Certification preferred

• Bilingual preferred

  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

• In the absence of the Director, coordinates the biannual care plan meeting with Interdisciplinary Team.

• Directs, supervises and instructs nursing staff in the clinical aspect of the program (provides for appropriate hands-on care and monitoring as needed).

• Cooperates with other disciplines on coordinating direct and indirect services to registrants and families/caregivers.

• Supervises registrants’ medication regime, administers medications and maintains medication administration record as needed.

• Supervises all therapeutic treatments done by other nursing staff (provides therapeutic treatments as prescribed by community physician and maintains treatment records as needed).

• Various other duties and responsibilities as required.
