Stony Brook Medicine (Stony Brook University Hospital) Administrative Coordinator - Health Information Management in Commack, New York

At Stony Brook Medicine, the Administrative Coordinator for Health Information Management (HIM) maintains all office functions for the HIM and Revenue Integrity (RI) Departments and provide full assistance to the Directors and the Associate/Assistant Directors. Duties of an Administrative Coordinator in Health Information Management may include but are not limited to: Assists in budget preparation and control including processing budget transfers, full responsibility for all purchase requisitions and tracking of expenditures for Health Information Management and Revenue Integrity Departments. Coordinate office services for the Director of HIM and the Director of Revenue Integrity as well as other members of the department management staff (i.e.: meetings, calendar, requisitions, office supplies, travel and education arrangements and reimbursements). Provides full administrative support services, including taking and transcribing meeting minutes for Medical Record Committee, Forms Committee, and the Joint Commission RC Functional Committee. Provides full administrative support to the Human Resource process for the Health Information Management and Revenue Integrity Departments including preparation of recruitment and appointment packages, screening applicants, assists with the interview process. Full responsibility for the coordination of all departmental human resource data, including yearly evaluations, for two departments with a combined workforce of 80 plus staff members. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Associate's degree and at least 2 years of relevant administrative experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Strong verbal communication and computer application skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with the Human Resource process including preparation of recruitment and appointment packages, ability to assist with screening applicants and the interview process, managing annual reviews. Experience in budget preparation and control including processing budget transfers with full responsibility for all purchase requisitions, including tracking of departmental expenditures. Experience with administrative support services including taking and transcribing meeting minutes for committees, including preparation of committee packets and meeting arrangements. Experience with Microsoft Outlook regarding meeting scheduling for both Directors including calendar maintenance. Experience with maintaining office supplies, travel and education arrangements/reimbursement. Previous experience in the use of KRONOS, Lawson, Taleo and Staples.
