U.S. Army Sustainment Command Logistics Management Specialist in Comayagua, Honduras

Summary About the Position: Serves as the Chief, Maintenance Division at the Installation Maintenance Office of the Soto Cano Logistics Readiness Center for the 407th Army Field Support Brigade. Responsible for managing the Installation Materiel Maintenance program, providing oversight and coordination of the installation maintenance mission. Please limit your resume to 5 pages. Responsibilities Serves as the maintenance policy and technical advisor to the LRC Director and units providing oversight of the maintenance mission and equipment for tenants, military, and training organizations at the installation. Coordinates highly complex requirement issues with contractor, installation organizational maintenance units, and Major Army Command (MACOM) representatives to ensure that military units are operationally ready and mission capable. Chairs or participates in conferences as the installation representative to discuss managerial or technical maintenance problems, orientation, training, and assistance on proposed changes to maintenance/logistics policies and procedures. Monitors contractor business performance with regard to the installation maintenance mission in accordance with contract Award Fee plans. Develops cost-comparison studies on all functions of maintenance services performed by contractors to ensure the contractor is performing satisfactorily. Develops maintenance and logistics technical/work specifications for contracts to be awarded for maintenance functions. Provides tactical and non-tactical technical assistance and advice to all activities on the installation (including tenant units/activities) and USAR Area Maintenance Support Activities (AMSAs) located throughout the regional states. Manages Division's operations, to include structure, skills mix, and quantity of resources to comply with assigned mission requirements, workload/budget ceilings, and mandated changes. Provides information for submission to higher echelons. Reviews performance data against standards and recommends tests, equipment modifications, training for users and repairers, and other corrective measures. Operates the Global Combat Support System- Army (GCSS-A), Log Info Warehouse (LIW) and other Logistics automated systems, perform recurring procedural supply work by using existing policy, work procedures, work methods, or data integrity. Specialized Experience: To qualify, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Providing oversight to employees performing maintenance on non-standard, non-tactical vehicles or government vehicles and power generation equipment; 2) Using the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) maintenance module; 3) Monitoring the life cycle use of non-tactical or government vehicles; 4) Facilitating resources to train and license personnel in accordance with the Army Master Driver Program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Maintenance Planning and Management Planning and Evaluating Support Equipment Technical Data Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 5 years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition. Direct deposit of pay is required. U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement. Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area. Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space available and reimbursable basis only Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions. Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250. This is a Logistics Career Field position. The initial length of this overseas tour is 12 months. This is an unaccompanied Tour.
