CAS is currently seeking an Infrastructure Engineer for our Technology Team. This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. Job Summary: This Infrastructure Engineer will apply their technical expertise, analytical talent, and enthusiasm to our Technology IPS Network and Hardware Services practice area that is responsible for the complete scope and lifecycle of CAS' campus, remote office, and cloud network infrastructures. This individual will collaborate across the organization to plan, design, deploy, and maintain the network and other infrastructure services as a core element of delivering positive value and experience to CAS customers around the world. Job Accountabilities: Act as support and domain expert for z/OS operating system and system components; provide direct technical support as needed in the planning, coordination, installation, implementation and testing of releases, upgrades, or changes to z/OS operating system, network, and component software. Ongoing maintenance (install, patching, upgrades, administration, etc.) of the mainframe z/OS operating system, accompanying storage systems and systems software products (e.g., database, transaction server, security management, scheduling, report distribution, etc.), and UNIX Systems Services. Primary support for assigned ISV products along with diagnosis of z/OS platform system and product issues and follow up with root cause analysis. Analyze performance issues while providing technical consultation and addressing inquiries from the other IT technical teams. Support for new product installation and evaluation as needed. Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and tests as scheduled. The candidate will be required to provide Production 24x7 coverage (when required) and support weekend implementations. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in computer information systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, MIS or relevant majors. A strong commitment to a career in technology and a passion/aptitude for software and technology. Demonstrated a curious learning mindset. Demonstrated intentional leadership experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems and solutions in clear and simple terms. Prior technical internship experiences desired Desired knowledge of Basic Assembler Language (BAL) and software debugging Desired knowledge of JCL, VSAM, REXX, JES2, RACF, SMP/E, VTAM, TCP/IP, ISPF, SDSF, IOCPHCD Ability to shuffle priorities in response to a changing workload is required Ability to work as part of a group and individually Must be willing to learn new technologies Physical Requirements: While performing the responsibilities of the position, the worker must be able to lift and manipulate devices weighing up to 50 pounds un-aided; Move heavier objects using a manual pallet jack, hand truck, cart, and powered rack lift, and engage other workers as needed; Perform work within underfloor plenums and within equipment racks using a step stool or ladder as necessary; Manipulate large and small, sensitive electronic and mechanical components; Use industry-standard hand tools, test equipment, computers, and communication devices; Use required and
