This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. Job Accountabilities: Work on a team of database administrators in developing a Database as a Service structure for our OpenStack environment. The individual will need to have a wide range of knowledge of operating systems, database open-source technologies, automation tools, monitoring tools, and implementing the above tools into a coherent service for our OpenStack environment. Perform administrator functions on NoSQL and RDBMS databases Assists in development of systems and procedures affecting database management, design and maintenance Perform service management through the fulfillment of complex service requests Perform problem management to minimize the adverse effect on the business of incidents caused by complex errors in the infrastructure. Proactively prevent the occurrence of incidents Perform configuration management to provide a logical model of the IT infrastructure for all configuration items Perform release management to ensure that all aspects of a release are considered Perform availability management to optimize the capability of the IT infrastructure and supporting organization to deliver a cost effective and sustained level of availability that enables the business to satisfy its objectives Analyzes database performance and implements sophisticated changes as necessary to meet application needs in accordance with corporate directives and service level requirements. Evaluates and makes recommendations regarding database administration software tools and new technologies Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and tests as scheduled. The candidate will be required to provide Production 24x7 coverage (when required) and support weekend implementations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, MIS or relevant majors. A strong commitment to a career in technology and a passion/aptitude for software and technology. Demonstrated curious and inquisitive learning mindset. Demonstrated intentional leadership experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems and solutions in clear and simple terms. Prior technical internship experiences desired. Desired knowledge of relational and non-relational database technologies such as SQL and non-relational Desired knowledge of developing/supporting database deployments within private and public cloud environments such as AWS Desired knowledge of various programming languages supporting database technologies on linux such as bash shell, python, java, etc. The ability to shuffle priorities in response to a changing workload is required The ability to work as part of a group and individually Must be willing to learn new technologies CAS offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including a generous vacation plan, medical, dental, vision insurance plans, and employee savings and retirement plans.
