Brief Description:
The Project Manager - Senior for the Digital team is viewed as a leader within their team and provides project management and delivery of technology and business initiatives while actively ensuring consistency with company strategy and goals.
Detailed Description:
The individual in this role will be a leader in the utilization of Huntington’s Project Management Methodology and in the creation of full-scale project plans for the execution of project goals and strategies.
To be successful the candidate must be driven and well-organized. It is essential for the individual to be self-motivated and tenacious, thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and drive the project team to complete tasks on agreed schedules. Management will look to this individual to drive the overall coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of the projects assigned to them. This individual is expected to help lead relationships with the business, cross-impacted IT teams, and 3rd Party Vendors and must possess the ability to push back when required.
Primary Responsibilities:
+ + Responsible for working with the project team to drive the overall coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of assigned project efforts
Consistently work effectively and successfully with the core project leadership roles to ensure project success
Actively facilitate and participate in the analysis and review of overarching project deliverables
Create and maintain the full spectrum of project documentation as defined by Huntington’s Project Management Methodology
Lead and ensure delivery of complex midsize to large projects
Lead and coordinate project delivery and status with other bank departments/affiliates and 3rd Party Vendors
Manage multiple projects within approved budget and schedule
Consistently create and submit accurate status reports on time
Lead the management of project change, risk and issue management
Ensure all risks and issues are documented and escalated appropriately
Consistently create and maintain full-scale project plans and schedules
Consistently update/maintain project information in the project management tool (Service Now PPM)
Schedule and facilitate project meetings
Facilitate and work with project team members to meet established target dates and completion of activities/deliverables under changing conditions
Actively and effectively communicate with project and leadership team members
Ensure all aspects of the project’s documentation is created, reviewed, and approved by the required individuals
Collaborate with the project team on the project’s scope and commit estimates
Actively facilitate and participate in release activities for the project
Ensure activities are completed in support of the project’s warranty period
Understand and follow the project lifecycle methodology consistently
Work under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment and problem solving
Provide mentorship to junior team members as needed
May serve as a Program Manager on programs as needed
Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
5 to 8 years of experience as a Project / Product / Program Manager (or equivalent role type)
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in Banking or Financial Services
Experience leading large, cross-functional information technology efforts
Strong experience utilizing a variety of portfolio project management tools
Strong experience creating and tracking project schedules in MS Project or other project management tools
A good understanding of project lifecycle methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Iterative, Agile/Scrum) and project management processes and standards
Aptitude in both business and technology, with the ability to draw conclusions based on correlating data
Excellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to explain project risks and issues and IT related concepts clearly and concisely to multiple layers of peers and leadership
Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to handle multiple priorities and effectively prioritize them
Ability to provide strong project leadership during periods of uncertainty, ambiguity, and change
Willingness and drive to learn and understand detailed software solutions
High level of professionalism and confidence with the ability to build credibility with team members and business partners and establish effective working relationships
Ability to initiate and facilitate change, whether indicated by corporate needs, market or regulatory requirements
